Budgies are birds that can be great friends with other budgies and even some other parrots like cockatiels and Indian ringnecks but it is best not to risk it because they can get into a fight. There can be many ways we can tell that 2 budgies are in love or best friends. When 2 budgies love each other extremely they may make the choice to mate. Clement and Berry the budgies have become best of friends since the first day Berry entered Clement's cage. here are some signs of love and friendship between budgies. 



Being together almost all the time
Budgies like to be with their partner. Every bird likes company just like how you would like to stay with a friend. It is best that the birds in love or best friends are in the same cage but always be aware that the budgies might bond with each other and it would be harder for it to bond with you. 



Preening each other
Good budgie friends would preen each other. Some budgies just like a 'scratch' on the head from its good friend or partner. If the budgie does not have a partner it would preen itself. 

Feeding each other - Regurgitating
Sharing food is a sign of love in the budgie flock. A budgie would feed its mate. Female budgies will regurgitate food to the baby budgies. 

Kisses
Just like how you would be to a close friend, a family member or your loved one, budgies would tap its friends' beak with their tongue to kiss. Budgie partners are not the only ones that kiss. Good budgie friends (like a boy with another boy) like to kiss as well.  

Remember that if you are planning to breed budgies because your 2 mated please remember to look after the babies well! :)
